Korr´s “Facilitated Segment” aka Subluxation aka Somatic Dysfunction

IN 1975 Irvin Korr published Proprioceptors in somatic dysfunction in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (74: 363-376)11.  He set up a plausible hypothesis for why somato-somatic and somato-visceral dysfunction can become entrenched in the muscles, joints, and spinal reflexes via an aberrant muscle spindle setting.

Dr. Lawrence Jones who was practicing the technique he discovered, realized that this same hypothesis could explain the mechanism by which he was able to unlock somatic dysfunction via positioning and slack.
